More than 250 gully lids have been stolen from the Wakefield area, posing a serious danger to road users and pedestrians.
In an effort to combat the problem, Wakefield Council has appointed Roche Civil Engineering to reinstate gullies with anti-theft lids and Ultracrete’s Ironwork Reinstatement System.
The system comprises of bedding mortar, rapid set flowable concrete and Instant Road Repair cold lay asphalt that meets HAPAS approval for first time permanent repairs to carriageways.
The repaired guliies were open to traffic within an hour thanks to the rapid setting qualities of the specialist products.
